Tucked deep in Charlevoix, Chute des Martres is an off-the-radar hike leading to a powerful, untouched waterfall far from the crowds 🤯


Getting there is part of the adventure—about 2.5 hours from Québec City, followed by a rough final 2 km that requires AWD or 4x4 🚙


The 8.5 km round trip begins on a wide ATV trail before narrowing into a rugged forest path along the river 🌿


Expect fallen trees, unclear sections, and a rocky river crossing—this is a true backcountry-style hike, not a maintained trail


Around km 4.5, the reward appears: a dramatic, secluded waterfall surrounded by raw wilderness 🌊 Quiet, powerful, and often completely empty
